Lately I’ve been asked by a lot of people to take a look at their website and see why it’s not getting more acupuncture patients. Here’s some common problems I’m seeing (make sure you don’t have them too.):
- The site is written all about the practitioner, and not what they can do for patients. People are interested in your skills and qualifications, but only when they first understand how you can help them.
- The site’s navigation is confusing - the reader has no idea what they should read first.
-
No use of the “Meta Description tag”. This tag lets you choose part of what shows up on Google. For example, google “acupuncture marketing” and look at what shows up for my site. You won’t find that text anywhere on my site - it’s hidden in the “Meta” tags on the first page. (Here’s an explanation of how to check your meta tags.)
There’s no other way Google or other search engines allow you so much control over what shows up.
- The graphics distract from the message. Graphics are good, but they should support your message.
There are also two common problems, but anyone who asks me to look at their site has probably already had them fixed:
- The website has broken links.
- The website is incomplete or outdated. This happens when users are dependent on a developer to update the site, and can’t do it themselves.
I’ve been really sensitive to these problems lately because I’ve a system that avoids all of them:
Acupuncture Clinic Websites. You may want to take a look. We’re offering not only the best website system possible, but the best support possible. Your site is designed to be almost as easy to use as sending email or writing a letter. It comes pre-set up, all you have to do is edit your information. If you’re ever stuck, we have how-to videos, a large help section, and email support from a webmaster who’s also a L.Ac.
Even though I think our support is great, I want to make sure we have all the kinks out of it. So we’re offering a complete website for just $20 a month, until I’m satisfied with our support. If you sign up now, that $20 is locked in for as long as you use the service (it’s normally $35 a month). The website system itself is already working great. Take a look.
