You’ve heard of acufinder, and they cost something like $179 a year or $219 for two years (if I remember correctly. They may be well worth it, because each new patient is worth at least $150 (probably closer to twice that). So just one new patient pays for the ad. Every patient after that is a bonus.
TCM Directory isn’t as well known as acufinder, but it actually has more features. Elie, the site’s creator, tells me that some people even use it as their website. It’s that powerful. Until September 15th, you can get a listing for $11 - 85% off the regular price. Just use coupon code ACM2008.
I don’t get paid anything if you use the code - Elie offered to pay me for referrals, but there’s no need.
Being listed in TCMdirectory benefits you in two ways. First, it could get patients to make an appointment. That’s the sole purpose of all the nifty features. Second, it gives you a quality link back to your website. This helps give you a boost in the search engines - search engines look at who’s linking to you to determine how important your site is.

This sounds like a great deal! But…when I tried to sign up with this coupon code, I was offered $11 OFF of the regular price of $74/year, for a total of $63. This may be a glitch in the coupon or a misunderstanding, so I’ll wait a few days and see which deal is accurate.
At any rate, $63/year is still a good deal if it will bring in a new patient.

Michael,
Thanks for letting me know. I’m having Elie take care of it - I’m sure it was just an oversight.

Hi, I apologize for that error.
It is 85% off now and is corrected.
Michael, I had sent you an email regarding this.
You don’t need to sign up again, your info is there.
Thank you,
Elie

Thanks Burton and Elie,
Yes, this was a temporary glitch and now I’m completely signed on, with the 85% offer in place. It was just $15/year for the premium listing and $11/year for the standard listing.
I appreciate the quick and accurate response
Michael

I have found TCM directory to give me a pretty powerful back link. Referrals to my site are on par with Acufinder.

Hi Eric,
I was wondering if you use the customizable patient newsletter that is included with your Acufinder.com membership?

Hi Diane,
Yes, I do use it. It is a nice feature. I have a link on my patient resources page for sign up.
I haven’t had many visitors sign up for it, but that is probably an issue with how/where it’s displayed.
Maybe you, or Burton has a tip for that?
