The Best Resource for Growing Your Practice

November 6th, 2010 · 1 Comment

I’ve found the best resource to grow your practice, ever.
I’ve mentioned Brooke Thomas before.  She struggled for 3 years as a Rolfing practitioner.  Every mistake you’ve made, Brooke probably made it too.  Or worse.
Three months after she figured out how to market her practice, she had a months long waiting list.
It wasn’t an accident.  She’s [...]

Ready, Aim, Fire… or Ready, Fire, Aim?

August 17th, 2009 · 5 Comments

I’m continually shocked at how many acupuncturists are focusing on the wrong things. It happens ALL the time. I’d guess most business owners, let alone acupuncturists, go through the same thing. If you don’t have enough patients/clients/customers, what should you be doing?
Obviously… getting some!
I offer business building coaching, but right now I don’t [...]

Should You Put Testimonials On Your Website?

June 29th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Last week I asked if you should put your fees on your website or not.  There were a ton of answers.  You can still leave a comment with your experience there.
The answers seem to be divided between people who:

Questions, Problems and Pet Peeves

June 15th, 2009 · 16 Comments

I haven’t been writing much lately because my focus has been on a couple of new projects.  They’re getting more exciting the closer I am to finishing them.  But I’d like to get back in the swing of things by writing for you.
It occurred to me that you may have problems or questions that I’ll [...]

How Do You Stand Out?

June 11th, 2009 · No Comments

I just wrote about how domain names (web addresses like AcupunctureClinicWebsites.com and Google.com) are commodity products, so there’s no reason to pay more than the minimum.
Unfortunately, if you don’t stand out, people will try to pay YOU the minimum. Everyone can compete on price, and try making up for the lower price by selling [...]

Avoid this Website Ripoff

June 11th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Second – GoDaddy has no problem with seizing your property (domain name), then charging $200 or more to let you tell them why they should return your property. If there’s any question at all about your website – fairness goes out the window. As GoDaddy’s head attorney notes:

Jones pointed out that GoDaddy’s terms [...]

Happy Hour Acupuncture

May 22nd, 2009 · 1 Comment

Here’s a great idea from Jeffery Grossman of Acupuncture Media Works. Dan Clark of Lotus Spring Acupuncture has been using this with success. Anyone else?
Here’s what Jeffery says:
Acupuncture Happy Hour sessions are 20-minute ear acupuncture treatments, for $20, given in a group setting. I started doing it for a few reasons.
1) It’s a [...]

She talked about how she made $11,168.81 in her first year online, working part time.  Lisa is having fun with it - it’s [...]

Do You Use Online Appointment Scheduling?

January 7th, 2009 · 8 Comments

Two of my website clients are using an online appointment scheduling system.  I’m looking into having it integrated with our website service.  My concerns:

Are conflicting appointments ever a problem?
How easy is it to use and maintain?
What do you find annoying or wish to change?
Any “gotchas” to watch out for?

I want to make sure I find [...]

Keywords and Search Terms (SEO Part 2)

December 30th, 2008 · 8 Comments

(This continues the series on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - how to have your website found by ranking high in the search engines.)
Keywords and search terms are basically the same thing.  When someone looks for acupuncture in google, they’ll enter a search term.
The most reliable search term to bring in patients is your location + [...]

Anything for Money

December 9th, 2008 · 14 Comments

I had an interesting experience today.  Called a guy about a car, and asked him questions about it.  I told him point-blank “If there’s anything wrong with the car, please let me know now before I drive out there.”  He told me there weren’t any problems.
He lied.
Now that I think of it, everything he said [...]

Seth Godin and Acupuncture

December 2nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

Seth Godin is a brilliant marketer, and inspired much of what’s behind Never Market Again. In fact, I credit him in the book:
Speaking of ideas, I realized lately much of this book is inspired by the writings of Seth Godin. Especially his book, Unleashing the Ideavirus. I doubt I would have uncovered this system without [...]
