Research about Acupuncture

February 27th, 2008 ·

I’ve done quite a bit of research on what has been written about the effectiveness of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. One of the best collections of articles I’ve found is Dr. Melissa Carr’s Active Life Clinic’s Research and Articles page. Actually, I didn’t find it, she told me herself - thanks, Melissa.

Another good secret is Google’s Scholar. Here’s a search on Acupuncture and Fertility. The problem with Scholar is that it often refers to links or abstracts for articles you have to pay for. You can end up wasting a lot of time trying to get at articles that cost $25 or more. What worked for me is to go over to a medical school’s library and use the search there - they usually have a subscription to the proper journal so I can download or print it free.

Do you have any suggested sites/resources for looking up research on Oriental medicine’s effectiveness? If so, please share - leave a comment below. Thanks.

I’m going to be posting soon about valid acupuncture studies. There is a flaw in almost ALL acupuncture studies that show acupuncture doesn’t work. Really! However, there’s another flaw in many studies that do show that acupuncture works.
